About The Position

In short, we build solutions that set the benchmark for steam utilization worldwide. Spirax Sarco is seeking an experienced CNC Machine Operator to join our 2nd shift team in Blythewood, SC. You'll play a crucial role in producing machined parts by setting up and operating CNC machines while also ensuring that quality and safety standards are prioritized and maintained consistently. 2nd Shift: Monday to Thursday / 3:00pm to 1:30am EST

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • 2-3+ years of related experience & knowledge of CNC machines
  • Ability to work from blueprints, sketches, charts, tables, and verbal instructions
  • Ability to interpret machining processes and complete tasks from raw material to final part, maintaining all desired tolerances

  • Machining Tool Technology Degree/Certificate preferred

Responsibilities

  • Produce machined parts by setting up and operating CNC machines, ensuring quality and safety standards are maintained.
  • Read and interpret part drawings/blueprints to determine necessary dimensions.
  • Perform quality inspections using both attribute and variable gauges, ensuring finished products are defect-free.
  • Ensure machines operate at full capacity, are stocked with the materials needed, and perform periodic checks on output.
  • Record and report machine malfunctions to aid in preventative maintenance.
  • Set up, change over, load parts, and operate specified CNC machines according to standards and schedules.
  • Load feed mechanisms by lifting stock into position.
  • Set up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, and more.
  • Supply efficiency improvements by recognizing and implementing enhancements.
  • Verify machine settings by measuring positions, first-run parts, and sample workpieces, adhering to international standards.
  • Maintain safe operations by following safety procedures and regulations.
  • Complete preventive maintenance requirements, troubleshoot malfunctions, and call for repairs as needed.
  • Document actions by completing production and quality logs.
  • Maintain continuity among work shifts by detailing and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
