About The Position

Motor City Wash Works is looking for energetic and motivated candidates to staff its CNC Department in our manufacturing facility. As a member of the team some CNC Operator essential duties and functions are as follows.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to read blueprints and qualify finished parts to drawing.
• Basic math skills. Understanding of fractions and decimals with measuring devices.
• Ability to work on your feet all day, moving continuously. Good physical condition. Lift 50 lbs. of metal repeatedly, every day. Most parts are under 10lbs.

Nice To Haves

• Forklift experience a plus, willingness to train to gain a forklift operators certificate
• Overtime and weekend work are sometimes required.

Responsibilities

• Operate a CNC vertical milling center with minimal instruction
• Use standard measuring equipment. (Caliper, Micrometer, Bore Gages, Etc.)
• Read blueprints and qualify parts to drawings
• Listen to and follow verbal instructions
• Set up clamps, positioners and metal blocking in an automatic computer controlled milling machine
• Load and operate CNC machine to make parts to specifications.
• Fill out work order and inventory use documents
• Push loaded carts to inventory aisles and unload parts into stock bins
• Work in a healthy team environment, assists others when able and as needed
