About The Position

Produces machined parts by setting up and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; prepare materials for machines; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies; maintain shop cleanliness and scrap material bins.

Experience with a variety of hand tools, cutting tools such as saws and routers.
Experience operating CNC lathes and/or mills.
Experience using micrometers, calipers and bore gauges.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Prolonged periods of standing up and working on your feet.
Must be able to lift up to 50+ pounds at times.

Responsibilities

Prepare materials for use within the department using automated saws, chop saws and vibratory machines.
Maintain shop cleanliness using standard cleaning practices.
Handle and transport scrap materials to discard and recycle bin in various locations.
Sets-up mills and lathes by installing tools, attachments and collets; indicating vices.
Ability to machine production parts on CNC machines.
Loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.
Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces.
Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and threading; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
