Produces machined parts by operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine, performing a standard series of progressive machining operations to close and exacting tolerances. Changes tools and assists with or performs standard set-ups. Following detailed instructions, operates CNC and other machines to perform standard and repetitive sequences of operations where programs are proved and setups made and maintained by others Drilling, boring, milling, turning and balancing, as required Working from detailed process instructions Using precision measuring instruments or limit gauges to check machine positioning Inspecting your own work for quality Meeting rate for each part, while maintaining quality Maintaining a clean work environment Taking responsibility for equipment care and basic maintenance Assisting other operators as needed Recognizing own capabilities and taking initiative to continually improve Performing other duties as assigned The physical requirements for this position require continuous standing and intermittent walking, bending, sitting, pushing/pulling and lifting of parts that may at times be in excess of 50 pounds. The CNC Operator should have the physical and mental ability to perform the above necessary job functions while maintaining an exemplary safety record.
