About The Position

This is a Union role and must join the union after 90 day probationary period. This is a full-time position. The position involves learning to assist in set-up of simple jobs and operation of CNC and Grinding equipment, tooling maintenance, and ensuring that all required processes are completed to produce parts that meet quality and ISO standards. The role also includes learning to operate CMM.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Knowledge of GD&T.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize accordingly.
• Problem-solving skills preferred.
• Ability to be a team player.

Responsibilities

• Learn set-ups of simple jobs and operate conventional, special-purpose, and CNC machines to fabricate metallic and non-metallic parts.
• Review and understand blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances.
• Learn to select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines.
• Learn to verify conformance of finished work pieces to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
• Learn to measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on material or work pieces.
• Learn to fit and assemble parts into complete assemblies using jigs, fixtures, and hand tools.
• Learn to verify dimensions and alignment of assemblies using measuring instruments.
• Learn to check for machine readiness to ensure functionality and performance.
• Complete essential documentation as required.
• Assure all policies and procedures are followed and safety precautions are taken.
• Maintain a well-organized clean work area and assure safe operation of all equipment.
• Perform and document Operator Preventative Maintenance operations as needed.
