About the position

FOX Factory designs, engineers, manufactures and markets performance-defining products and systems for customers worldwide. Our premium brand, performance-defining products and systems are used primarily on bicycles, side-by-side vehicles, on-road vehicles with and without off-road capabilities, off-road vehicles and trucks, all-terrain vehicles, snowmobiles, specialty vehicles and applications, motorcycles, and commercial trucks. Some of our products are specifically designed for and marketed to a variety of leading cycling and powered vehicle original equipment manufacturers ('OEMs'), while others are distributed to consumers through a global dealer and distribution network. Fox Factory Holding Corp. is the holding company of FOX Factory, Inc. and is publicly traded (FOXF) on Nasdaq. Operator will load, unload, and inspect parts during the machining process. Operator will be responsible for the quality of the parts being produced and for achieving production standards. This position requires de-burring, polishing, and cleaning parts at the machine on some work.

Responsibilities

  • Performs basic math calculations, including addition and subtraction of decimals.
  • Maintains dimensional tolerances between ±.0003”-.005” or greater.
  • Interprets basic dimensions on a print.
  • Utilizes precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauge pins, etc.
  • Loads, unloads, and inspects parts being machined while maintaining published PPH.
  • Operates a minimum of 1 bar feed lathe, or a Mill along with performing secondary operations.
  • Maintains accurate part counts, fills out Box Tags, and Job/Quantity Tracker.
  • Reports and asks supervisor/lead for assistance with any machining problems.
  • Follows documented operator procedures such as inspection check sheets and posted operator notes.
  • Maintains a clean work area and observes all safety procedures.
  • Can execute machine offsets and insert changes with direction of supervisor or lead-person.
  • Produces parts with less than 2% scrap rate on a consistent basis.
  • Operates a variety of Lathes and Mills, along with secondary operations with routine supervision.
  • Operates a minimum of 2 bar feed Lathes simultaneously.
  • Operates a variety of CNC Lathes and Mills with minimal supervision.
  • Runs multiple jobs dealing with moderately complex parts.
  • Interprets dimensions on a print, reads and understands tolerance block, local notes, revision level, etc.
  • Operates a variety of CNC Machines independently without supervision.
  • Interprets all dimensions on a print.
  • Reads and interprets all dimensions, local notes, revision levels, surface finish and calculates non-referenced dimensions.
  • Has the ability to operate Lathe bar feed machines, some hand load Lathes, and most Mills.
  • Executes machine offsets and insert changes independently without supervision.
  • Has the ability to assess tool performance and makes changes when appropriate.
  • Has the ability to assess job performance and can determine when a job is not running efficiently.
  • Consults with supervisor or technical department on possible improvements that can be implemented.
  • Performs some lower level set-up tasks with supervision.
  • Other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • HS graduate or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of prior experience operating CNC machinery required.
  • Experience in manufacturing or manufacturing quality environment preferred.
