Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of prior experience operating CNC machinery required.
  • Experience in manufacturing or manufacturing quality environment preferred.
  • Good working knowledge of CNC functional and technical skills, controls and instrumentation.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Load, unload, and inspect parts during the machining process.
  • Perform de-burring, polishing, and cleaning parts at the machine.
  • Maintain dimensional tolerances between ±.0003”-.005” or greater.
  • Interpret basic dimensions on a print.
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauge pins, etc.
  • Maintain accurate part counts, fill out Box Tags, and Job/Quantity Tracker.
  • Report and ask supervisor/lead for assistance with any machining problems.
  • Follow documented operator procedures such as inspection check sheets and posted operator notes.
  • Maintain a clean work area and observe all safety procedures.
  • Execute machine offsets and insert changes with direction of supervisor or lead-person.
  • Produce parts with less than 2% scrap rate on a consistent basis.
  • Operate a variety of Lathes and Mills, along with secondary operations with routine supervision.
  • Run multiple jobs dealing with moderately complex parts.
  • Assess tool performance and make changes when appropriate.
  • Consult with supervisor or technical department on possible improvements that can be implemented.
  • Perform some lower level set-up tasks with supervision.
