The CNC Operator/Machinist Apprentice position at Georgia Transformer in Rincon, GA, is a full-time role that offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic manufacturing environment. The primary responsibility of this position is to set up and maintain CNC machinery to execute jobs effectively while adhering to company policies and safety guidelines. The role requires a solid understanding of engineering drawings and the ability to upload and enter cut programs from engineering specifications. The CNC Operator will ensure that the CNC machine operates efficiently, conducting daily pre-shift inspections to minimize downtime and maintain streamlined functionality. In addition to operating the CNC machine, the apprentice will oversee machine operations to meet job-specific quality targets and implement necessary changes to address mechanical, material, and quality issues that may arise during production. The role involves completing production, mechanical, and quality logs, as well as operating equipment such as overhead cranes and forklifts. Strong communication skills are essential, as the operator must understand all aspects of machinery to determine the root cause of any deviations from normal operating procedures. The apprentice will also ensure that the results of the machining process align with client expectations and that shift reports are completed daily. The position emphasizes the importance of maintaining a clean and organized work environment, ensuring that the next shift is set up for success. The CNC Operator will conduct regular quality checks to meet specifications and understand how production deadlines impact timely delivery to customers.
