About The Position

The CNC Machine Operator will operate CNC machines to support the production process and perform changeovers of CNC machines. The role involves maintaining the readiness of CNC machines, prioritizing workflow to operate multiple machines efficiently, and preparing castings for CNC machining. Operators will also be responsible for deburring, washing, and pressure testing parts, assisting with setups, performing quality inspections, and monitoring inventory of cutting tools and machining supplies. Additionally, the operator will perform basic machine troubleshooting, assist in the development and training of Level 1 CNC Operators, and follow all established processes and safety procedures.

Requirements

  • High school graduate.
  • Minimum of 5 years machining experience in a production environment.
  • Hands-on operation experience with CNC machining centers.
  • 4 or 5-axis VMC and/or HMC experience.
  • Fanuc Pro 3 or Pro 5 controller experience a plus.
  • Experience with measuring and gauging equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the readiness of CNC machines, including indicating axis.
  • Prioritize individual workflow to operate multiple CNC machines efficiently to hit productivity goals.
  • Prepare castings for CNC machining including the installation of components.
  • Deburr, wash, and pressure test parts.
  • Assist with setups including changing fixtures, tools, measuring tools, and program changes.
  • Perform all required quality inspections to ensure product meets or exceeds quality standards.
  • Report labor, productivity, and other KPI’s promptly and accurately.
  • Follow all established processes and safety procedures.
  • Monitor inventory of cutting tools and machining supplies.
  • Perform basic machine troubleshooting.
  • Perform PM’s as scheduled and ensure that all machines are properly maintained.
  • Assist in development and training of Level 1 CNC Operators and identifying training needs of the team.
  • Other duties as assigned.
