About The Position

Fabricate metal components by manual machining and operating CNC machines. Change over CNC machines and fabricate low volume parts on manual machines.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Proficient in part inspection, including use of calipers, bore gauges, thread gauges, and micrometers and height gauge.
  • Familiarity with CNC controllers.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Team player.
  • Communication skills (written and oral).
  • Basic math, reading, and writing skills.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Basic understanding of ISO9001 and LEAN.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Fast learner.
  • Able to pick up new processes quickly.
  • Understanding of automated and manual tool probing concepts.
  • Requires solid understanding of manual and CNC machining concepts.
  • Familiar with all types of cutting tools and their uses.
  • 3-5 Years experience running CNC machines.
  • Two (2) year machine trade school or Equivalent Experience.

Responsibilities

  • Run multiple CNC machines simultaneously, efficiently running parts through the equipment.
  • Operate band saws, drill presses, and other manual machining equipment.
  • Perform machining operations for milling, boring, grinding, lathe.
  • Create product based on work orders and drawings.
  • Use wide range of precision measuring instruments to maintain a close tolerance.
  • Complete reports, issue material to work order as required, file prints.
  • Set up part fixtures in CNC and manual machines.
  • Adjust tool offsets on CNC machines.
  • Inspect tools for wear.
  • Change tools in CNC and manual machines.
  • Loading and calling programs on Automated Loading Robot
  • Basic welding.
  • Basic waterjet setup and run.
  • Other duties as assigned.
