About The Position

Eaton’s ES GEIS CHD division is currently seeking a CNC & NC Machine Operator P&R - 2nd Shift. The core hours are 2:30pm to 11:00pm The hourly rate for this position is $20.87 per hour.

What you’ll do:
Set Up and operate NC and CNC machines and any conventional machines in the Casting Cells to perform a variety of turning, drilling, tapping, boring, reaming, threading, forming, facing, milling, slotting, grooving, chamfering, serrating and deburring operations to produce a variety of explosion-proof parts of various materials
Operate machines include, but are not limited to, single spindle and multi-spindle drill presses and tappers; milling machines; parts washers; and deburring grinder
Refer to assembly drawings, wiring diagrams and machining blueprints to maintain tolerances.
Set controls and perform other manual data input functions as required, review operation data sheets, parts program, tape readouts and prints, and change collets and/or chucks; load and unload parts; load, unload and adjust tools as necessary
Check first piece using fixed or adjustable gauges; gauge periodically and visually inspect all parts for appearance and compliance to specifications; correct for any discrepancies.
Maintain a supply of materials to machines and remove finished work as necessary to establish a flow through the cells
Operate fork truck to facilitate own work or to move material around department as required
Maintain work area, machines and control units in a clean, neat and orderly condition and follow 5-S's principles

Requirements

• A minimum of two (2) years’ previous work experience in drill press set up and CNC operation.
• Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B, H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc.
• No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of Syracuse, NY (50 miles) will be considered for this position.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, charts, and tables

Nice To Haves

• 3+ years of work experience with NC & CNC machine setup and operation
• Fork Truck experience
