Where You Will Work Consolidated Aerospace Manufacturing (CAM)/EA Patten is the primary division of Stanley Black & Decker Aerospace, with locations in Manchester and Columbia, CT. We are a leading innovator and strategic partner in the manufacturing of fasteners, fittings, tubing assemblies and engineered products for the aerospace, defense, and industrial markets. CAM is currently comprised of nine subsidiaries across the United States split among three segments. Who You Are Working on 1st shift in our Columbia, CT facility, the Mill-Turn Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating an Okuma Multus (7-axis) CNC machine to produce precision parts by performing both milling and turning operations.

  • Program, set up and operate Okuma Multus (7-axis mill/turn), including installing and adjusting tools, offsets and fixtures.
  • Edit programs.
  • Develop lightly attended automated machining process.
  • Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function.
  • Prepare and load raw materials and parts.
  • Prepare test runs.
  • Set machines to complete full cycles.
  • Perform daily maintenance, such as checking fluid levels, cleaning chips, and replacing worn or damaged tools.
  • Identify and resolve operating difficulties, report malfunctions, provide feedback to improve processes.
  • Maintain accurate records, including production logs, job sheets and maintenance reports.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Proficiency in operating multi-axis Mill-Turn machines, Multus experience is preferred
  • Strong understanding of CNC programming.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and GD&T.
  • Experience with precision measuring tools and an ability to hold tight tolerances.
  • Computer savvy with basic understanding of computer programming and CAD/CAM
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
