About The Position

The position involves operating a CNC machine safely and efficiently while producing quality products that meet production expectations set by management. The role requires the ability to interpret customer drawings, GD&T, work instructions, and in-process inspection plans. The operator will be responsible for setting up tools, fixtures, and machines, as well as ensuring that all safety protocols are followed during operation. Additionally, the operator will mentor other operators and document work on inspection plans and the ERP system to maintain traceability and records.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of customer drawings, GD&T, work instructions, and inspection plans
  • Ability to use measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and indicators
  • Skill in mounting and loading tooling and fixtures
  • Capability to produce first piece inspection parts
  • Basic troubleshooting skills for speeds & feeds and tool wear
  • Ability to train operators on production and inspection processes

Responsibilities

  • Operate a CNC machine safely and produce quality products
  • Utilize CNC programs and set up tools and fixtures
  • Work with Quality Control (QC) for first piece approval and in-process inspection plans
  • Collaborate with programmers for technical issues or troubleshooting
  • Ensure machine access door interlock is operable during operation
  • Mentor operators on production and inspection documentation
  • Document work on inspection plans and ERP system
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities in processes
  • Communicate production, safety, and quality concerns to supervisor
  • Adhere to the Foreign Object Debris (FOD) program during production activities
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Assist in various tasks during lack of work, including cleaning and manual machining
