About The Position

Are you the CNC expert who loves turning complex prints into flawless parts? Here’s the schedule: 2nd Shift, Monday–Friday, 2:00 pm–10:00 pm with shift differential. Through January 5, 2026, the plant is transitioning to four 10-hour shifts. Starting January 2026, your shift becomes Monday–Thursday, 3:00 pm–1:00 am. Questions to consider Can you translate GD&T-heavy blueprints and engineering plans into efficient toolpaths? Are you comfortable programming in G-code or conversational formats, then dialing in offsets, tool registers, and compensation? Do you enjoy taking a setup from tooling and indicating through first-article verification with minimal assistance? When a measurement is off, do you troubleshoot root causes, edit programs, and replace worn tools without missing a beat? Do you take pride in mentoring other machinists and keeping rock-solid production and quality logs?

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Machining Technology (or related) and 3+ years of CNC machining experience, or equivalent background.
  • Technical depth: Dimensional metrology; strong mechanical aptitude; geometry/trigonometry for print-to-program validation; ability to determine, sharpen, and fabricate tooling; experience with hoists and hand tools; arc/radius programming and manual compensation for tool nose radius/clearance; apply technical products across industrial processes.
  • Collaboration: Positive teamwork with colleagues at all levels.
  • Business acumen: Discretion with confidential information; outstanding organization, prioritization, and time management; adaptability in a high-paced environment.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work outside the standard schedule as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Study work orders, prints, material specs, and machining parameters to meet production schedules.
  • Program, set up, and operate CNC mills and lathes; set zero and reference points; adjust offsets and conditional switches.
  • Safely load raw stock; validate setups via first-run and sample checks to international standards.
  • Oversee drilling, grooving, turning, and facing; measure and correct deviations via program edits and tooling changes.
  • Perform preventive maintenance per manufacturer guidelines; escalate repair needs promptly.
  • Document actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs to ensure seamless handoffs between shifts.
