About The Position

The CNC Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and sustaining CNC machining processes to support high-precision, high-volume production. The role involves CAD/CAM programming, tooling engineering, equipment capability analysis, and continuous improvement. The Engineer collaborates with Operators, Supervisors, Maintenance, and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot machining challenges, introduce new technologies, and maintain compliance with quality and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • 4–6 years in high-precision, high-volume CNC manufacturing.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline; extensive equivalent experience may substitute for formal education.
  • Demonstrated experience in CNC programming, process development, and first-article qualification.
  • Work experience and knowledge of medical device or other highly regulated industry required
  • Strong CNC programming and machining process development experience.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T.
  • Proficiency with machining calculations, precision measurement, and equipment capability analysis.
  • Knowledge of CNC machine mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software (PartMaker, TB-Deco, Esprit, NX, TeamCenter is a plus).
  • AutoCAD or Solidworks experience preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, stabilize, and restore CNC equipment to specification.
  • Skilled in optimizing existing CNC programs and developing robust new programs.
  • Effective in improving efficiency through engineering analysis and process improvement.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills in a fast-paced technical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Process & Programming Engineering Develop, optimize, and maintain CNC machining programs using CAD/CAM software.
  • Evaluate manufacturability using engineering drawings, GD&T, materials, and machine capability.
  • Define machining strategies, toolpaths, and process parameters for first-article and production machining.
  • Support production scale-up through robust process design and improvement.
  • Tooling & Equipment Engineering Identify, specify, and source advanced tooling solutions to improve accuracy, repeatability, and tool life.
  • Support commissioning of new CNC equipment and ensure production readiness.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance to resolve complex equipment or performance issues through root cause analysis.
  • Production Support & Optimization Analyze machining performance to reduce cycle time, improve throughput, and stabilize processes.
  • Provide hands-on support during setups, transitions, and troubleshooting.
  • Lead initiatives that improve quality, reduce scrap, and increase equipment efficiency.
  • Training & Cross-Functional Collaboration Train Operators and Leads on new processes, tooling, and program changes.
  • Work with Supervisors, Quality, and Engineering teams to resolve machining challenges.
  • Support quality, regulatory, and cost-reduction initiatives.
