About The Position

Touchstone Advanced Composites, a subsidiary of Core Natural Resources, is a rapidly growing supplier of high-tech tools and composite parts to the aerospace, space, defense, and other industries. We are seeking motivated individuals for the position of CNC Machinist who enjoy hand-on work, attention to detail, and working in a team environment to produce high-quality products. TAC offers competitive pay and benefits, with opportunities for career advancement. This position will be responsible for the operation of a variety of CNC machine tools. This includes setting up and verifying tooling and setting part offsets.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to operate a variety of precision measuring instruments, including calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gages, indicators, and scales.
• Minimum of two years of experience working on the set-up of 5-axis machines, such as Hass or Fanuc preferred.
• Working knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, fixtures, inserts, and other accessories used to operate various machines.
• Ability to read and interpret company documents, such as blueprints, safety rules, operating/manufacturing instructions, policies, and procedures.
• Good manual dexterity required to work with small parts.
• Capable of recognizing and solving typical problems that can occur in own work area; evaluates and selects solutions from established options.
• Effective oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks; good time management, problem-prevention, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work with cross-functional teams.
• Able to identify areas of low efficiency and work to provide improvements.
• Must be able to stand/walk for long periods of time.
• Must be able to work as scheduled and arrive to the worksite promptly to receive work assignment.
• Must be available to work overtime and weekends as business requires.

• Knowledgeable in the use and application of precision measuring instruments, including calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gages, indicators, and scales.
• Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
• Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, inserts, accessories, and materials on machines as necessary to machine parts as required.
• Responsible for loading parts, proving out programs, operating controls, setting offsets, simple program edits, and initial inspection of parts to ensure it meets tolerances.
• Communicate with management, production control, quality, and other team members for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and maintain all equipment, to like new appearance, according to maintenance plans and established procedures.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
