About The Position

The Machinist will be responsible for the set up and machining precision parts to specifications with minimal assistance.

Requirements

• Ability to produce a high quality part in a safe, productive and efficient manner
• Ability to interact with co-workers productive and positive manner

Responsibilities

• Machine Control which includes pull and send programs; tool change; trouble shooting; entering tool and D-Comp offsets; M.D.I.
• Understanding setup sheets, tool lists and Operational Detail Sheets
• Calculating Work Offsets/Indicating
• Understanding program/D-Comps
• Tightening and clamping pressures (i.e. ‘Free State’ condition and part clamped maintaining free state)
• Cutting pressures/Boring Bar adjustments; spring pass; test cut bore
• Tape proving new and modified programs, anticipating what the machine will do before it cuts
• Preventive maintenance
• 6-S Activities
• Pre-start up inspections which incorporate Health & Safety awareness
• Running a combined number of machines simultaneously in a safe and effective manner. (Combo)
• Other duties as assigned
• Adhering at all times to company policies, procedures and health and safety requirements
