About The Position

Calling all CNC Machinists! Come help us shape the future of aerospace with us! Hoppe Technologies, located in Chicopee, Massachusetts, is currently recruiting to fill a CNC Machinist position. Hoppe celebrated its 80th anniversary in 2021, and we are an established machining company serving (primarily) the aerospace, defense, and semiconductor industries. Our primary machining areas consist of 3-, 4-, and 5- axis Mazak, Okuma and Matsuura milling and Mazak Integrex mill-turn CNC machines. We are not just looking for someone who can run a machine we are looking for a master of metal. Hoppe Technologies, Inc. is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team and contribute to cutting-edge projects. Responsibilities of the CNC Machinist position include, but are not limited to; Setup, run and produce quality parts on various CNC machines such as, but not limited to 3-, 4-, or 5-Axis milling or Mill-Turn (Multi-Tasking) machines.Load and unload parts, operate controls, complete basic program edits, and initial deburring of parts.Complete tool changes and resetting of tool offsets.Use job package information and drawings along with shop measurement devices and gauging to complete in-process inspection anddeterminedimensions and tolerances of in-process and finished parts.Dismantle setups and return tools, fixtures and gauging to proper location upon completion of manufacturing runs.Detect and report machine and equipment malfunctions to immediate supervisor.Communicate with supervisor for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues.Responsible for keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly.Complete daily and weekly preventative maintenance checklists on assigned equipment.Within the scope of the job requirements, adhere and comply with state and federal law, the Company AS9100 quality program and procedures, company policies and Safety and Environmental regulations.Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience setting up and operating CNC machines such as milling machines, mill-turns and / or lathes in a machine shop environment.
High School Diploma or GED.
Technical/Vocational training desired.
Proficient knowledge and application of precision measuring instruments and the application of such instruments. Instruments should include but not limited to calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gages, and indicators.
Knowledge of reading drawings and specifications with an understanding of geometric tolerance and dimensions.
Knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts, and other accessories used on various machines.
Must be able to follow written and oral instructions
Must be able to communicate in English (both oral and written) as it relates to the job
Must be adaptable to a changing work environment
Must possess basic math skills to include but not limited to adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, geometry, and algebra for the purpose of calculating material fabrication.
Willing to run multiple machines independently or in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

You'll have extensive experience working with mission-critical aerospace and defense parts where precision is paramount.
You're fully capable of setting up andoperating3-,4-,and5-Axis mills or mill turns while ensuring exceptional accuracy and efficiency.
Your experience with Mazak and Matsuura machines and running palletizer lines is a definite advantage.
You're proficient and willing to run multiple machines, optimizing output and demonstrating your adaptability.
You demonstrate excellent attendance and consistently work your scheduled hours, a crucial aspect of our team's success.
You're eager to learn new things and do more, showing your commitment and drive.
You can troubleshoot malfunctions and ensure machines operate at peak performance.
