As a key member of the Engineering team, the CNC Machinist will be responsible for will set up and program various tools and equipment to create, modify, or repair precision parts. During machining, the machinist will monitor the machinery and conduct regular quality checks to ensure they are running properly and that the parts are being produced according to specifications.

  • Set up and operate CNC machines to produce precision parts according to specifications.
  • Machine parts to specifics using tools such as mills, grinders, and lathes
  • Write and edit CNC programs using CAM software to ensure accurate and efficient machining processes.
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Work closely with engineers and other team members to troubleshoot issues, optimize machining processes, and implement improvements.
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 4+ years experience as a CNC machinist, preferably in a medical device manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in operating CNC machines and CAM software, including knowledge of G-code programming (a plus).
  • Experience with grinders, lathes, and mills
  • CAD/CAM, Autodesk HSM, Solidworks, Inventor experience
  • GD&T proficiency
  • Ability to reverse engineer existing parts and fixtures without drawings
