About The Position

American Crane & Equipment Corporation (ACECO) is seeking a CNC Machinist to support the production of custom, low-volume, high-value components used in crane and hoist systems. This role is CNC-focused, with opportunities to support manual machining when needed to complete complex jobs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • 3+ years of CNC machining experience required
  • Strong blueprint reading and interpretation
  • Proficiency with precision measuring tools
  • Solid understanding of machining processes and material properties
  • Basic understanding of G-code and CNC program structure (editing a plus)
  • Authorization to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship
  • Ability to verify identity and employment authorization (Form I-9)
  • Eligibility to access information or technology governed by U.S. export control laws (including 10 C.F.R. Part 810, EAR, and/or ITAR), where applicable
  • Willingness to undergo a background check in accordance with applicable laws
  • Willingness to undergo a pre-employment drug screen in accordance with company policy and randomize drug screens during employment
  • Ability to meet the posted work schedule and work required hours
  • Ability to maintain reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Willingness to follow all company safety policies and procedures
  • Willingness to wear appropriate PPE when in or around the shop areas
  • Willingness to complete required safety and compliance trainings

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work full-time hours, including overtime as needed.
  • Comfortable working near moving mechanical parts and in varied environmental conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational training or Machinist certification preferred
  • Experience with machine setup, offsets, and troubleshooting preferred
  • Experience with manual machining (lathes, mills, boring mills) strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC machines to produce precision components
  • Make offsets, tool adjustments, and machine corrections to maintain tolerances
  • Interpret programs and verify machining processes meet specifications
  • Monitor machine performance and ensure quality throughout production runs
  • Operate manual machines such as lathes, mills, drill presses, and horizontal boring mills as needed
  • Support complex jobs that require both CNC and manual machining techniques
  • Read and interpret blueprints to determine machining requirements
  • Use precision measuring tools to verify dimensions and maintain quality standards
  • Select appropriate tooling and understand material properties (primarily steel)
  • Perform basic tool maintenance, sharpening, and jig/fixture support
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
