About The Position

The CNC Machinists are responsible for the usage of various mills and lathes to manufacture a variety of different parts/tools to meet production schedule needs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Three to five years of related experience and/or training.
  • This position may require a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
  • Reads and understands blueprints, schematics, and/or measuring devices.
  • Follows processes and standard procedures.
  • Hands on, get it done attitude.
  • Uses hand tools and power tools.
  • Demonstrates a high degree of responsibility and motivation.
  • Achieves thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task through concern for all the areas involved.
  • Clear and effective communication skills in both written and spoken forms.
  • Understands how to use the computers, including such tasks as turning the computer on and off, locating and opening files, navigate to websites, perform searches, and download files.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Can handle frequent interruptions and can multi-task.
  • Analyzes and diagnoses problems and works independently to solve them.
  • Can work with minimal supervision and make decisions without repetitively asking others.
  • Works effectively with different levels of management, team members and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize measuring equipment used in the industry such as calipers, micrometers, height gauge and other measuring equipment needed to complete work.
  • Sets up and operates all available machine tools and performs progressive machining operations on work involving very close tolerances or unusual requirements.
  • Changes cutting tools and adjust machine feeds and speeds as needed.
  • Ensures product quality to meet and customer specifications.
  • Works in conjunction with the CNC Programmers to establish CNC tool setups and validate CNC programs for use on 3 and/or 5 axis CNC machines.
  • Obtains all necessary tooling, correct drawings and any special instructions.
  • Sets up and understands the CNC program and operate CNC mills.
  • Detects and reports faulty machine operation, defective material and equipment, drawing discrepancies, and other unusual conditions to the CNC Machinist Leader.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
