About The Position

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to set up and operate a variety of advanced CNC equipment in a precision manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for machine setup, program editing, quality verification, and maintaining production targets while adhering to strict quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have strong blueprint reading skills, hands-on machining experience, and familiarity with multi-axis CNC operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • CNC trade school certification preferred (or equivalent hands-on experience).
  • 2+ years of CNC machining experience required (4+ years preferred).
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment required.
  • Experience with G & M code required.
  • Blueprint and mechanical drawing interpretation required.
  • Ability to perform basic math, including basic trigonometry.
  • Experience with ERP systems for production tracking required.

Nice To Haves

  • Aerospace manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with 3, 4, and 5-axis machining preferred.
  • Experience with FANUC , Mitsubishi , and Okuma controls is a strong plus.
  • Experience analyzing CMM data preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate various CNC machines, including 3, 4, and 5-axis milling machines , VTLs, horizontal lathes.
  • Upload, download, and edit CNC programs as required.
  • Analyze and interpret operation sheets, blueprints, mechanical drawings, and travelers to produce parts that meet or exceed customer specifications.
  • Perform machine setups including selecting, aligning, and securing fixtures, tooling, and workpieces.
  • Run first-piece inspections and perform visual checks prior to submitting parts to Quality for full inspection.
  • Operate machines to achieve production KPI targets once programs are validated.
  • Use precision measuring instruments to verify conformance of finished workpieces.
  • Analyze and interpret CMM reports and data.
  • Perform deburring operations within specified tolerances.
  • Maintain working knowledge of CNC principles, including G & M codes .
  • Capable of operating multiple machines when assigned.
  • Operate overhead cranes when necessary.
  • Document production activity in travelers, control charts, quality logs, and ERP systems.
  • Maintain continuity between shifts by documenting production status and any issues.
  • Troubleshoot machining and equipment issues; escalate when needed.
  • Collaborate effectively with Quality, Engineering, and Production teams.
  • Follow all safety procedures and properly use required PPE.
  • Support continuous improvement and organizational goals.
  • Perform full CNC machine setups.
  • Run first-piece product verification and submit to Quality Inspection.
  • Once approved, run production until KPI targets are achieved.
  • Adjust or request program changes as needed.
  • Interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings throughout the production process.
  • Document workload and production updates in ERP systems.
