About The Position

Location: Morton, IL Responsibilities: The CNC Machine Operator Level 2 is responsible for operating CNC machinery to manufacture aerospace components with precision and efficiency.        This role includes performing advance inspections, troubleshooting, and contributing to process improvements while ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards. Operate, set up and adjust CNC machines to produce parts to exact specifications. Perform tooling changes, offsets, and program adjustments as necessary to maintain accuracy and efficiency. Monitor machine operations and make real-time adjustments to ensure optimal performance. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions to set up machines. Perform advance troubleshooting to address machine issues, tool wear, and program inconsistencies. Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to resolve technical challenges. Conduct in-process and final inspections using precision measuring tools (e.g., CMM, calipers, micrometers, height gauges). Ensure parts meet strict tolerances and specifications in compliance with aerospace standards. Document inspection results and non-conformance; initiate corrective actions if needed. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of CNC machines and tooling. Suggest and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste. Maintain accurate records of set up parameters, production runs, and inspection results. Update and modify CNC programs under guidance to optimize machining procedures. Adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) Ensure compliance with company policies, AS9100 standards, and regulatory requirements. Provide guidance to Level1 operators and assist with training requirements. Work closely with supervisors and cross-functional teams to meet production goals and deadlines.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical certification or associate degree in CNC machining, manufacturing, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience operating and setting up CNC machines in a manufacturing environment, preferably aerospace.
  • Advance understanding of CNC machine operations, tooling, and G-code programming.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Strong Knowledge of precision measuring tools and quality control processes.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical and mechanical issues independently.
  • Ability to stand for extending periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, lubricants, and machining operations.
