About The Position

We’re hiring at Borg Design in Hudson, MA. We’re growing our manufacturing team and currently hiring for two CNC roles in our clean, modern, air-conditioned facility with more than 30 CNC machines, primarily Haas and Fanuc. If you’re looking for a hands-on role with long-term growth opportunities, we’d love to hear from you. We’re seeking a skilled and motivated Machinist to join our growing team in a job shop environment producing low-to-medium volume, high-mix parts to tight tolerances. This role is ideal for someone with strong machining fundamentals, blueprint-reading skills, and experience holding quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to start a career in precision manufacturing. We provide paid hands-on training and a real path to advancement into setup, machining, and CNC programming roles.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of machinist experience in a machine shop or job shop preferred
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T
  • Experience with CNC and/or manual machining
  • Familiarity with steel, aluminum, stainless, and plastics
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to understand written and verbal English
  • Likes working with their hands and machines
  • Wants to learn a valuable trade
  • Is dependable, punctual, and motivated
  • Enjoys hands-on work and problem solving
  • Wants a long-term career in manufacturing

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with G-code, ERP systems, or quality systems such as ISO/AS9100 is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC and/or manual mills and lathes
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions
  • Machine parts to required tolerances and quality standards
  • Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and indicators
  • Make tooling offsets and basic program adjustments
  • Troubleshoot issues and work with supervisors and engineers
  • Maintain documentation, inspection records, and a clean, safe work area
  • Load and unload parts and raw materials into CNC machines
  • Operate CNC machines under supervision
  • Follow job travelers and work instructions
  • Deburr, clean, and mark finished parts
  • Follow all safety and quality procedures
