CNC Machinist-(Weekend-2nd Shift)
About The Position
Max Aerostructures is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist for their weekend 2nd shift. The work schedule is Friday through Sunday from 6pm to 6:30am, where employees work 36 hours but are compensated for 40 hours. The role involves studying blueprints, setting up and operating various CNC machines (3, 4, and 5 axis), calculating and adjusting machining factors, observing machine operations for malfunctions, verifying work-piece conformance using inspection tools, and collaborating with production personnel and programmers to resolve issues. Maintaining a clean work area is also a key part of the role.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2 plus years of experience running 3, 4, and 5 axis machines
- Knowledge of blue prints and CNC Machines
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds as well as stand, sit, bend, kneel, squat and walk on a regular basis.
- Must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Must adhere to safety procedures at all times.
Responsibilities
- Study blueprints, sketches, sequence of operations and setup requirements
- Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials on machines as necessary to machine parts as required.
- Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media according to established guidelines and procedures.
- Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out of tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
- Verified conformance or finished work-piece to specifications, using measuring and inspection tools as necessary.
- Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
- Confers with production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.
- Clean machinery and maintain cleanliness in work area
