Key Responsibilities Set up, operate, and maintain CNC milling and turning centers to manufacture aerospace and defense components in accordance with complex engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards Interpret detailed job routings, blueprints, GD&T, tool lists, and work instructions with a strong focus on accuracy and repeatability Select, install, align, and adjust cutting tools, fixtures, and work-holding devices appropriate for aerospace materials (aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, Inconel, etc.) Monitor machine feeds, speeds, and offsets to ensure optimal performance and compliance with strict tolerance requirements Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, indicators, gauges, CMM-related tools as applicable) Deburr and finish parts to aerospace standards, ensuring all surfaces conform to engineering and customer specifications Accurately document production data, inspections, and process steps within the ERP system to ensure full traceability Set up and run low-complexity, unproven parts and proven parts with medium to high complexity Support prototype, experimental, and first-article manufacturing efforts Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to troubleshoot issues, improve manufacturability, and recommend process or tooling enhancements Actively participate in continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and quality initiatives Maintain a clean, organized, and audit-ready work environment in compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements Perform other duties as assigned Required Qualifications Experience & Education 5–6 years of CNC machining experience, preferably in aerospace and/or defense manufacturing High school diploma or equivalent with advanced machining or technical training Technical Skills & Knowledge Strong understanding of aerospace drawings, GD&T, and customer specifications Proven ability to hold tight tolerances and work with precision components Proficiency using precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, indicators, etc.) Solid math skills, including fractions, decimals, and basic geometry Working knowledge of ERP systems and manufacturing documentation practices Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machining processes Familiarity with first article inspections (FAI) and quality documentation is a plus Understanding of AS9100, ITAR, or other regulated manufacturing environments is preferred Professional Competencies Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality and compliance Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams Safety-focused mindset with strict adherence to policies and procedures Commitment to maintaining a clean, organized, and controlled work environment Physical Requirements Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
