About The Position

Dixon Fire, a proud division of The Dixon Group, is looking for an experienced CNC Machinist to support our manufacturing operations. In this role, you'll set up and operate CNC (Computer Numerical Controlled) lathes to produce high-quality metal components that meet precise specifications. We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys problem-solving, and thrives in a team-oriented environment. This position also offers opportunities to perform additional tasks, such as operating a laser marker or assisting with light assembly to support customer demand and expand your skill set. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 5+ years of CNC machining or CNC operator experience
  • Familiarity with G‑code programming
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
  • Skilled in the use of precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
  • Strong reading, math, and data entry abilities
  • General computer proficiency
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand for the full shift

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Mazak and Fanuc controls preferred

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC machines (experience with Fanuc and Mazak controls is a plus)
  • Identify and resolve machining or program issues
  • Perform inspections to ensure components meet drawing and quality specifications
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work area
  • Complete basic daily maintenance on machines
  • Rotate between assignments as needed to support production
  • Collaborate with team members and participate in ongoing training
