A CNC Machinist in the James Ford Bell Technical Center Machine Shop will fabricate and assemble food process or packaging equipment, parts, prototypes, extrusion dies, cutters, formers, tooling, or fixtures to specifications required on detailed engineering design drawings. The CNC Machinist will interpret and sometimes create two and three dimensional engineering drawings using computer aided design software such as Solidworks. The CNC machinist will import the design geometry into computer aided manufacturing software such as Mastercam or Insight, then program CNC 3, 4 and 5 axis milling, turning, additive manufacturing, and wire electrical discharge machine tools to fabricate the parts as required.
