The position involves performing set-ups and manufacturing first pieces, reading and understanding specifications and drawings, and conducting first piece inspections. The role requires following verbal and written instructions to plan machine setups, selecting the correct tools, and making necessary adjustments including speeds and feeds. The technician will produce quality machined parts while strictly adhering to job safety requirements and procedures, which include machine guarding, forklift truck and hoist operation, and housekeeping requirements. Additionally, the technician will measure and inspect parts for quality and adherence to specifications, edit existing programs as necessary, and input programs into control from hard copy or PC. Monitoring tools during operation for wear and breakage is also a key responsibility, along with the capability of reading micrometers and veneers and working with Fanuc Controls.
