Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or technical certification in CNC machining, manufacturing technology, or related field (Bachelor’s preferred).
  • 5+ years of CNC programming experience, including 3+ years in a leadership or senior programmer role.
  • Proven experience with multi-axis and complex geometry programming.
  • Strong understanding of G-code, M-code, and machining principles.
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Siemens NX, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of materials, tooling, and machining parameters.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical specifications

Responsibilities

  • Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs using CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, GibbsCAM, Fusion 360, or similar).
  • Develop programs for mills, lathes, and multi-axis machines based on engineering drawings and models.
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machining strategies to maximize efficiency and accuracy.
  • Lead and mentor a team of CNC programmers and machinists.
  • Schedule programming priorities and ensure jobs are completed on time.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Analyze machining processes to identify opportunities for cycle time reduction, tool life optimization, and cost savings.
  • Standardize programming and setup procedures to improve consistency.
  • Implement best practices for CNC program management, revision control, and documentation.
  • Verify part conformity using inspection tools and CMM reports.
  • Ensure all programs adhere to company and customer quality standards.
  • Maintain compliance with safety and manufacturing policies.
