About The Position

Provide machinist support for vacation coverage and off‑schedule needs, ensuring continuity of operations across the machine shop. Assist experienced machinists with basic machining tasks, part handling, shop organization, and routine measurements. Rotate into other operational areas, supporting technicians in pressing activities as well as, kiln loading/unloading, QC tasks, and general process activities as required. Exhibit flexibility to move between machining work and cross‑functional operational duties. Follow all established safety protocols and PPE requirements. Support basic documentation of process steps and part data entry. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment and assist with routine equipment care. Willing to work overtime as needed to meet project or coverage demands. Demonstrate a learning mindset and actively build machining and operational skills through hands‑on tasks and mentoring.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or trade school degree in a mechanical, manufacturing, or technical field (baseline requirement).
  • Additional technical coursework or machine-related training (CNC operation)
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to perform material handling, weighing, completing process steps in sequence, and documenting process data.
  • Able to lift 60 lbs. from waist level as needed.
  • Skilled in identifying problems during standard operations on equipment and processes.
  • Ability to complete required tasks to achieve weekly objectives with periodic review of progress and results.
  • Wear task specific PPE.
  • Comfortable working in a relatively noisy environment.
  • Flexible with schedule changes.
  • The ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift, including weekends & holidays.
