About The Position

Advanced Machine & Engineering is a diversified manufacturing company that designs, builds, & delivers carbide sawing systems, custom work holding solutions, & automation solutions for a variety of industries. We are looking to hire a highly skilled CNC Machinists for mills a 1st shift – full time position. The ideal candidate will need to perform all of his own set-ups and have an excellent understanding of process, tooling, gaging and recognize risk areas of the parts being machined. We have a clean, modern, climate controlled & safe work environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Minimum 3 years of CNC machining experience (mill) required.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and gauges.
  • Strong math and measuring skills.
  • Ability to operate large overhead crane and operate forklift.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for setting up and operating boring, drilling, and milling machines to produce parts to specification.
  • Performs machining operations, such as milling, drilling, boring, reaming and tapping of metal work pieces, such as machine, tool, or die parts, analyzing specifications, and deciding on tooling according to knowledge of shop mathematics, metal properties, and machining procedures.
  • Operates machines and observes machine operation, optimizing rates of production.
  • Loads programs from off-line programmer if available or makes own program at the machine using Mazatrol as required.
  • Verifies dimensions of machined parts with precision measuring instruments and machine control. Works to tolerance of plus or minus 0.0005 inch.
  • Documents result of inspections, as required.
  • Communicate with co-workers and supervisor to receive instructions and coordinate activities.
  • Follows company safety rules as prescribed by the company safety program.
  • Performs routine daily maintenance on machine tool and maintains work area per company housekeeping standards.
