Collins Aerospace will always be a place where people can come together and make a difference. We are hiring CNC Machine Operator - Level III at Collins Aerospace in Jacksonville FL location. This individual will be responsible for tooling setup and machining new parts by executing programs and operating a variety of computer numerical control (CNC) or manual machines (3 axis and 5 axis CNC). This position will be involved in new product testing and new production deployment. This person will liaise with other operators and departments where appropriate to ensure the Machining section meets the required demands and reports directly to the Machining Manager. Requirements

  • Typically requires HS diploma or GED or vocational/ technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of 5 axis CNC machine center experience.
  • Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.
  • Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Machine composite materials
  • Prior experience utilizing various measuring/ inspection techniques
  • Self-directed, motivated, and able to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Set-up and operate multiple CNC Machine Centers, machining of complex fiberglass products
  • Maintain a safety first and teamwork mindset
  • Aid the setting up and proving out of programs with CNC Programmer
  • Meet and sustain Certified Operator requirements
  • Support and manage the machine tooling to best achieve drawing tolerances, including offset adjustments and tool wear identification
  • Communicate with co-workers and supervisor to coordinate activities
  • Create shop aids and standard work instruction for process improvements
  • Participate in EHS risk reduction activities
  • Provide continuous improvement ideas to support lean and CORE initiatives
  • Use fixtures or gauges to verify accomplish dimensional checks.
