About The Position

At STERIS, we help our Customers create a healthier and safer world by providing innovative healthcare and life science product and service solutions around the globe. Position Summary Completes set up, and operates both manual and CNC equipment for the efficient production of quality components. Responsible for the production of high-tolerance precision parts. This is a night shift position. First week: Monday - Wednesday 6:00pm - 6:30am. Second week: Monday - Wednesday 6:00pm - 6:30am, Thursday 6:00pm - 2:30am. Shift differential and overtime pay included.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum one (1) year machining experience in addition to Vocational/Technical degree or four (4) years CNC Machining in lieu of degree.
  • Experience in a CNC I capacity
  • CNC set up
  • Good hand/eye coordination (manual dexterity), basic organizational and troubleshooting/problem solving skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of CNC G&M codes

Nice To Haves

  • Technical/Vocational degree in a related field
  • Data entry system experience

Responsibilities

  • Intermediate ability to interpret technical prints.
  • Intermediate knowledge and use of CNC machine G&M Code and troubleshooting skills to identify and communicate program improvements to programmers.
  • Setup, operate and adjust machining equipment for basic and intermediate complexity part production without supervision.
  • Monitors quality of parts produced utilizing basic and advanced visual metrology devices to ensure Customer requirements are met and follows procedure for handling nonconforming parts.
  • Abides by all Company safety and health policies and procedures.
  • Must use personal protective equipment if required. (Company provided)
  • Aware of and conforms to company ISO goals and objectives and supports company ISO requirements.
  • Aware of and actively participates in company's Lean philosophy of continuous improvement.
  • Ensures measuring devices used to check product quality are calibrated prior to use.
  • Maintains in-process product identification.
