Superior Motion Controls is seeking a First-Class CNC Machinist to join our precision-driven metal manufacturing team. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who thrives in a fast-paced, quality-focused environment and brings deep expertise in the setup, operation, and optimization of CNC machining centers.

  • Set up, program, and operate vertical CNC machining centers to produce precision components per engineering specifications and drawings.
  • Read and interpret complex blueprints, GD&T specifications, and setup sheets with minimal supervision.
  • Perform first-piece inspections and make machine adjustments to ensure adherence to tight tolerances.
  • Select appropriate tools, fixtures, speeds, and feeds to optimize productivity and part quality.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment to ensure optimal machine performance.
  • Maintain documentation and records for production runs, tool usage, and machine setup parameters.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, and production teams to improve machining processes and resolve technical challenges.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Minimum 10 years of continuous hands-on experience in a CNC machining environment, with demonstrated expertise in setup and operation.
  • Proficient in the use of precision measurement instruments including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and dial indicators.
  • Strong understanding of metal material properties (e.g., aluminum, steel, inconel, tool steel) and cutting tool technology.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal oversight while consistently delivering high-quality results.
  • Ability to sit/stand at a CNC workstation for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift up to 40 lbs as needed.
  • Must be physically able to navigate the warehouse and access inventory at various heights.
  • Experience with Fanuc, Haas, or similar CNC control platforms preferred.
