About The Position

Curtiss-Wright Steam & Air Solutions (SAS), a business unit of Curtiss-Wright, designs, manufactures, tests and provides - Navy steam turbines and steam valves, nuclear steam turbines, and aftermarket steam parts, upgrades, and overhauls. Located in Summerville SC, this brand-new state-of-the-art facility is approximately 134,000 square feet dedicated to manufacturing in relations to machining, welding, assembly and quality inspections. We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable CNC Mill Machinists with hands-on experience operating Kitamura and Fadal vertical machining centers. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in precision machining, an eye for detail, and a commitment to producing high-quality parts to exact specifications. Openings for both 1st and 2nd shifts!

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience operating CNC milling machines, preferably Kitamura and/or Fadal
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and G-code
• Strong understanding of machining best practices and materials
• Familiarity with conversational controls and/or Fanuc preferred
• Strong work ethic, punctuality, and attention to detail
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
• Must be a Sole US Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC milling machines (Kitamura & Fadal) performing precision machining to tolerances within 0.001”
• Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T
• Perform tool changes, offsets, and adjustments as needed
• Monitor machine performance and make corrections to maintain tolerances
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, indicators)
• Maintain clean and organized work area
• Work collaboratively with programming and quality departments
