Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must have a Secret Security Clearance or be able to obtain one.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to stand, sit, bend, reach, and walk for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support in performing machine shop operations such as sawing, turning, milling, grinding, and heat treatment of metallic and non-metallic materials.
• Operate manually and CNC machines including lathes, milling machines, cutting saws, tool and cutter grinders, surface grinders, drill presses, heat treatment ovens, layout and measuring tools, and general hand-operated equipment.
• Gather required materials, read blueprints, lay out parts, figure feeds and speeds rates, and use precision measuring devices.
• Determine necessary equipment to complete tasks and comply with shop policy concerning work area cleanliness and weekly cleanups.
• Receive and review blueprints and materials for discrepancies, errors, or omissions necessary for assembly.
• Familiarize with shop-related math, knowledge of metals, blueprint reading, and geometric dimensioning and tolerance standards.
