Summary: Plan and perform various CNC turning and milling operations to machine a variety of metal parts.

Requirements

  • Must be a “U.S. Person” as defined by the U.S. Government and able to work without restrictions with ITAR related data
  • High School Degree or G.E.D
  • 3+ years of experience as a CNC Machinist

  • Ability to measure using standard shop tools, machine tools, and engineered gaging to close established tolerances.
  • Knowledge of appropriate speeds and feeds for materials and tools
  • Knowledge of machines codes and G codes.
  • Ability to travel domestically – 5% max

Responsibilities

  • Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes and milling machines
  • Work from blueprints, engineering instructions, specifications, and blueprints
  • Measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers.
  • Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized tools in order to perform precision machining operations
  • Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines
  • Select appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in the preparation of machine work
  • Check part to ensure that they are properly lubricated and cooled
  • Operate equipment to verify operational efficiency
  • Clean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment in order to remove grease, rust, stains, and foreign matter
  • Maintain records and documents in-process inspection data as required
  • Report faulty or unusual conditions to the appropriate level of supervision
  • Adhere to standards of safety and housekeeping standards
  • Operate and measure machine
  • Perform other related duties or responsibilities as required.
