Martin Sprocket & Gear is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team on the 1st shift. As a leader in the Power Transmission and Bulk Material Handling Industry, we pride ourselves on our rich heritage and commitment to excellence since our inception in 1951. This position is essential to our operations, where you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC machines for the machining or processing of metal parts. Your role will involve changing out tooling as required and ensuring that production meets our high standards of quality and efficiency. In this position, you will be tasked with setting up and operating CNC Lathe machines, performing various machining tasks such as turning, drilling, and utilizing bar feeders and live tooling. You will be expected to optimize setup times and maximize machine utilization, ensuring that production runs smoothly and efficiently. A key part of your responsibilities will include understanding the specifications of tasks by reading blueprints and route instructions, troubleshooting programs, and making necessary adjustments to maintain production quality. You will also be responsible for completing full cycles on CNC lathe machines to produce both high and low volumes of parts, improving productivity, maintaining offsets, and inspecting parts with a high degree of precision. Following the in-process part inspection process is crucial, and you will need to communicate effectively with supervisors and quality personnel to resolve any quality issues that arise. Safety is paramount, and you will be required to wear all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) throughout your shift. Additionally, you will document any issues to ensure a smooth transition between shifts and perform daily preventive maintenance on the machines. This role requires a commitment to teamwork and adaptability in a changing environment. We are looking for individuals who take pride in their work, are eager to learn, and can collaborate effectively with others. The position is full-time, with a schedule from Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
