About The Position

Steel Tool & Engineering Co. in Trenton, MI is hiring a full-time CNC Machining Operator to join a team that plays a critical role in both commercial and military aerospace manufacturing. The company specializes in brazed honeycomb assemblies for turbine engines in both commercial and military markets, emphasizing system-driven, data-backed processes for top-tier quality, productivity, and delivery. This role involves operating high-precision CNC equipment to produce aerospace components, requiring attention to detail, interpretation of blueprints and GD&T, monitoring machine performance, making adjustments, and inspecting parts with exact measuring tools to maintain tight tolerances. The operator will also document production data for traceability, perform basic troubleshooting and preventative maintenance, and collaborate with engineering and quality teams to ensure compliance with AS9100 and aerospace standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of CNC machining experience, setting up and operating equipment
  • Proficient use of measuring tools (Height gauge, calipers, and micrometers)
  • Familiarity with CNC controls (e.g., Fanuc, Haas)
  • Basic math and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and precision
  • Strong ability to multitask and manage time
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift over 10 lbs
  • Ability to read decimals down to one ten-thousandth
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T

Responsibilities
