About The Position
Job Title: CNC Machine Operator Location: Newport News, VA Job Type: Contract-to-Hire Pay Rate: $18 – $24/hour (based on experience and interview evaluation) Shift Availability 1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Monday–Friday) 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Sunday–Thursday)
Requirements
- Be comfortable using computers to operate machinery
- Demonstrate strong attendance and reliability
- Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members
- Be capable of lifting up to 75 lbs
- Follow both written and verbal instructions accurately
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience setting up and operating CNC equipment
- Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints
- Experience using calipers and other precision measuring instruments
Responsibilities
- Operate CNC machinery to bend sheet metal components
- Use CNC equipment to install hardware into sheet metal parts
- Assemble metal components using spot welding equipment
- Set up, clean, and maintain tools and machinery
- Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet dimensional specifications
- Maximize productivity by working efficiently to meet production goals
- Handle materials using a forklift, pallet jack, or manually
- Count, organize, and stack completed parts
- Remove burrs and smooth edges on finished products
- Continuously monitor product quality during production runs
- Perform basic maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues as needed
- Complete additional duties as assigned
- Follow all company safety policies and operational procedures
