At LayerZero Power Systems, Inc. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machine Operator to operate and maintain Haas ST-30/ST-25 lathes and VF-4 vertical mills. The ideal candidate will be proficient in G-code programming and capable of setting up, running, and inspecting precision-machined components in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience operating Haas CNC machines (ST-30/ST-25 lathes and/or VF-4 mill).
  • Strong understanding of G-code programming and CNC controls.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T.
  • Pro Experience with multi-axis machining and complex part geometries.
  • Familiarity with ISO or AS9100 quality standards.
  • Basic knowledge of CAM software (e.g. Mastercam, Fusion 360) is a plus.
  • Proficiency with measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical training or certification in CNC machining preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate Haas CNC lathes and mills to produce high-quality parts according to engineering specifications.
  • Write, edit, and troubleshoot G-code programs for turning, milling, drilling, and contouring operations.
  • Perform machine setups including tooling, work holding, offsets, and program loading.
  • Conduct first-piece and in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments.
  • Monitor machine performance and adjust optimize cycle times and part quality.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of setups, tool usage, and inspection results.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies, including zero-tolerance drug testing requirements.
