Galleher Industries is seeking an experienced Machine Operator II (CNC) to support the launch and ramp-up of our new Lafayette facility. This role is ideal for a skilled operator who takes pride in precision work, operates with a strong safety mindset, and thrives in a collaborative production environment. As a Machine Operator II, you will do more than run equipment, you will help establish the standards, workflows, and operational consistency that define a high-performing manufacturing team. You will serve as a technical resource on your shift, reinforcing best practices, supporting team success, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 3+ years of CNC machining or metal fabrication experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently in a production environment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders
  • Proficiency with precision measuring instruments
  • Safety-focused with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and stand for extended periods
  • Must pass background check and pre-employment drug screening
  • Reliable transportation required

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated ability to provide informal leadership, reinforce standards, and support team success within a production environment preferred
  • Forklift experience preferred
  • Welding experience (MIG, TIG, or fabrication support) is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machinery to produce precision metal components in accordance with blueprints and job specifications.
  • Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure all quality standards are met.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and production issues efficiently to minimize downtime and maintain workflow.
  • Maintain accurate production, scrap, and quality documentation.
  • Complete routine preventive maintenance and assist with tooling adjustments and changeovers.
  • Champion safe work practices and maintain compliance with company policies and OSHA standards.
  • Help reinforce standardized processes and contribute ideas that improve efficiency, quality, and overall performance.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource for peers and assist in supporting newer operators as processes are established.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and audit-ready workspace.
  • Support additional equipment or operational needs as business demands evolve.
  • Serve as a technical lead and trusted resource on your shift by modeling strong safety practices, reinforcing quality standards, supporting team members, and helping stabilize production workflows. This position does not include formal supervisory responsibilities.
