The CNC Machine Operator/Programmer is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC machines to produce precision parts efficiently. This role involves ensuring that the machines are set up correctly, programming them using G-code, and maintaining high standards of quality assurance throughout the production process.

  • Review the machine line up (schedule) on a daily basis.
  • Set up the machine using proper setup techniques.
  • Retrieve data and create programs at the machine controls using G-code as required, to maximize machine utilization.
  • Operate the machine(s) to achieve maximum throughput and utilization at available capacity and speed.
  • Inform management of anticipated and actual completion times.
  • Inform management of anticipated conflicts for future operations.
  • Ensure parts machined match current data and specifications and meet tolerance requirements.
  • Perform regular inspections using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and bore gauges to ensure product quality and adherence to specifications.
  • Participate in activity to improve throughput or utilization.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Complete required preventative maintenance activity.
  • 3 - 5 years' experience as a Machine Operator, preferably in a manufacturing machining environment.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Knowledge of CAM software is a plus.
  • Enjoys working in a team environment and possesses strong interpersonal skills.
