The CNC Machine Operator I (Oxy-Fuel Cutting) position at Custom Pipe & Fabrication involves operating Oxy-Fuel cutting equipment and machinery under direct supervision during the training period. The operator will learn to produce products that meet quality specifications and adhere to production schedules. This role requires keeping accurate records of operating data from control stations and other instruments, performing necessary dimensional quality checks, and executing related duties as required. Safety is a paramount concern, and the operator must ensure personal safety and that of team members, reporting any unsafe conditions immediately and taking action to prevent accidents and injuries. Additionally, the operator will be responsible for reporting malfunctions of equipment and deficiencies in processes. The operator may also be tasked with loading and unloading raw materials safely for the production of designated parts. Regular inspections will be performed using measurement tools to ensure 100% quality of finished parts. The operator is expected to request assistance from the maintenance services group whenever a non-conforming function or status of a machine is observed. A key aspect of the role is the ability to make minor mechanical adjustments as needed. The operator will learn and adhere to Custom Pipe policies and procedures, conducting themselves in a positive and professional manner while promoting team unity and continuity. There is also an expectation to cross-train in other operator capacities within the organization and perform other duties as assigned.
