About The Position

The CNC Machine Operator position at Dentsply Sirona involves setting up, operating, and tending to grinding machines that produce fluted endodontic files. This role is essential in ensuring the quality and precision of dental products, contributing to the company's mission of improving oral health worldwide. The position is on the 3rd shift, scheduled from Sunday to Thursday, 11:00 pm to 7:00 am, and requires a commitment to high performance and teamwork.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred; technical degree a plus.
  • Six months work experience and/or training on metal machines preferred.
  • Minimum of six months to 1 year machine operation experience or equivalent technical work/education experience.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust machine controls to exact positioning.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and quality control techniques.
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and multitask.
  • Ability to read and interpret procedural documents and safety instructions.
  • Basic computer skills such as data entry and using manufacturing software.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CNC machines and manufacturing processes.
  • Technical certifications related to machine operation.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and tend to grinding machines and related tools.
  • Study shop orders, DHRs, and work instructions to determine product specifications and operational sequences.
  • Adjust machine controls according to product specifications.
  • Activate machine start-up switches to grind, lap, hone, debar, shear, or cut work pieces.
  • Observe machine operations to detect problems and make necessary adjustments.
  • Inspect or measure endodontic files for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments.
  • Perform Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) at start-up.
  • Select machine tooling and changeover details based on production requirements.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards (5S and 6S).
