About The Position

TPT is seeking a CNC Machinist to setup, load/unload, troubleshoot, and operate CNC lathe/mill machine(s) within production for the Valencia, CA manufacturing site. In this role, the CNC Machinist will execute each assigned production job as sequenced and assigned by the manufacturing schedule (machine dispatch list). All machining activities shall achieve safety, quality, delivery and cost (SQDC) goals and will be overseen by the Production Supervisor. The CNC Machinist will receive objectives and requirements from the Production Supervisor and will execute through completion, following all standard work and manufacturing instructions. The CNC Machinist reports to the Production Supervisor and supports the company’s mission, vision, and values.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in CNC mill setup and operation.
  • Strong knowledge in reading blueprints and applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) for tight-tolerance, complex, aerospace machined components.
  • Skilled in using precision inspection tools such as micrometers, dial indicators, bore gauges, thread gauges, calipers, comparators, microscopes, and other specialty gauges.
  • Strong understanding of shop math, including fractions, decimals, angles, and geometry.
  • Intermediate computer skills for loading and editing CNC programs.
  • Ability to change tools, inspect fixtures, and adjust offsets.
  • Ability to use hand tools safely and effectively, including grinders and deburring tools.
  • Ability to operate multiple machines when required.
  • Capable of writing clear notes and instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all safety policies and promptly report potential hazards to the Production Supervisor and Leadership Team. Complete all required safety training on time.
  • Comply with site procedures, manufacturing instructions, production standard work, timekeeping protocols, and company policies, including those outlined in the Quality Management System.
  • Set up, load, unload, troubleshoot, and operate CNC machines following established procedures and machining best practices. Verify parts per inspection plans and accurately record data as required by the company and customers.
  • Perform visual, dimensional, and mechanical inspections of tooling, fixtures, and shop aids in accordance with manufacturing documentation.
  • Read and interpret CNC programs to assist with troubleshooting and setup.
  • Operate multiple machines simultaneously when assigned to maximize efficiency.
  • Support Quality MRB activities by collaborating with Quality and Engineering teams to identify process gaps and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in alignment with 5S principles.
