About The Position

J. Baur Machining is a manufacturing company located in Mars, PA. We have been a leader in precision machining and contract manufacturing for over 40 years. We are family-owned business made up of about 20 amazing employees. We have the newest automated CNC technology and feature 18 CNC machines in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing facility. We love Mazak, Multi-Tasking equipment! This position is for our 1st shift. Your set schedule would be Monday thru Thursday, 6AM - 4:30pm and Friday 6AM-2:30PM. This is a consistent Monday thru Friday daylight position at 48 hours per week. If you do not prefer overtime, we can make accommodations to your shift. We are looking for a mid-level CNC Machine Operator who understand machining basics such as blueprint reading and the ability to operate basic hand and power tools. We are willing to train and progress an ambitious, self-starter who wants to learn the trade of machining. This is also a great opportunity for any college/trade school student in the process of earning their machining trade certificate.

Requirements

  • Know or be willing to learn how to read and interpret blueprints and have a strong understanding of dimensions and tolerances.
  • Ability to use and operate hand or power tools and finishing tools.
  • Knowledge of math.
  • Mechanical aptitude and meticulous.
  • Team Player with a great attitude that can work well with others and be able to take correction.
  • Must be able to pass a drug and background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CNC equipment such as Mazak Multi-Tasking Equipment, Mazak Horizontals, and HAAS Verticals.
  • Ambitious, self-starter who wants to learn the trade of machining.
  • Currently enrolled in a college/trade school program for machining.

Responsibilities

  • Take instruction from the CNC Set-Up machinists for running your part.
  • Operate manual and CNC machine tools that include loading and unloading material to and from the machine tool work holding.
  • Observe material cutting processes.
  • Perform tool life management and tool compensation.
  • Detect and report defective material, product, and equipment at machine tool.
  • Complete parts finishing operation of the product to ensure it conforms to specifications per blueprint.
  • Complete machine tool routine maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot on machines in this fast-paced environment.
