About The Position

Busch Vacuum Solutions is a leading manufacturer of vacuum pumps, compressors, and blowers for use in industries such as semiconductor manufacturing, food processing, metallurgy, biomedical, and material handling. We are currently seeking a CNC Machine Operator I to join our team at our manufacturing facility in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This is a direct hire opportunity offering long-term stability and growth. The CNC Machine Operator I is responsible for setting up and operating conventional and Computer Numerical Control (CNC) grinders and related machinery. This role involves using computer-operated and mechanical equipment to install and maintain parts, perform periodic tests, and complete repairs. Ideal candidates are self-motivated, technically inclined, and thrive in a team-oriented manufacturing environment. Shift Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00pm-3:30am, with possible deviations based on business needs. New Hire Orientation and training will be completed on 1st shift: 7:00am-3:30pm.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience operating CNC machining equipment: Required
  • Proficiency with pneumatic and manual hand tools: Required
  • High School Diploma or GED: Required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook): Required

Responsibilities

  • Inspects parts visually before running machines
  • Sets up machines per work instructions
  • Makes minor adjustments to programs
  • Sets up gauge heads for high tolerance sizing
  • Inspects parts per process sheet
  • Adjusts machine to assure accuracy
  • Dresses grinding wheels and change diamond when needed
  • Deburrs completed parts
  • Works with tight close tolerances which require digital micrometers and dial indicators
  • Performs daily preventative maintenance
  • Uses Vernier calipers, micrometers, and various gauges
  • Work independently or as a team, as necessary, to fulfill department and Busch goals and objectives
  • Assist with implementing and maintaining 5S and Lean activities to improve flow and reduce waste as directed by Management
  • Perform processes and procedures while maintaining measurable and productive output as defined by production goals
  • Must comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures while reporting all unsafe activities and concerns to the supervisor, safety officer, or human resources
