About The Position

CNC Lathe Operator With minimal supervision, perform CNC Lathe machining.

Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and work instructions
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Familiarity with precision measuring tools
• Ability to maintain tolerances of .0005 inch.
• Basic math skills
• Proficient with hand tools
• Effective communication skills
• Proficient in use of precision measuring tools
• Minimum 3 years’ experience involving similar equipment, processes, measuring tools and machining operations.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret mechanical drawings and router instruction
• Setup and machine parts to blueprints and/or work instructions
• Select appropriate tooling
• Act as in-process inspector where required
• Generate Non-conforming Material Reports as needed.
• Troubleshoot technical issues in repair process
• Identify necessary modifications to operator instruction sheets and communicate to Engineering
• Monitor consumable supply levels and communicate shortages
• Cross train in other areas of machine shop
• Train associate ON CNC Lathe machine
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment
• Communicate issues to supervisor
• Perform basic preventative maintenance on CNC Lathe
• Observe safety guidelines and wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary.
• Other duties may be assigned.
